Happy Groundhog Day!

{Alarm Clock 5:59 changes to 6:00} [Music “Then put your little hand in mine. There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb. Babe, I got you babe. I got you babe.”] “Okay, campers, rise and shine. Don't forget your booties because it's cold out there today. It's cold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach? … Do you think Phil will come out and see his shadow? Punxsutawney Phil. That's right, woodchuck chuckers. It's Groundhog Day!”

Recognize the scene from the movie? Looks like Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so we are in for six more weeks of winter. There is debate that he really did see his shadow but hey, it does look like we will have a whiter than normal winter this year!

Look at all the snow we got this week! Today is rain and sleet and Friday more snow! Phil may be right.

The cats have a nice spot in the sun the day after the snow - peering out the windows. Smidge enjoyed the one day of warm sunshine from her porch before more clouds and rain moved in today.

We will all be glad to see spring come this year. For more Cats on Tuesday visit Gattina!

  2. Groundhog Day was a terrific movie. Maybe I'll watch that later this evening, when I'm home after work.

Wiarton Willie in Ontario saw his shadow too, but really, in Canada we're going to have six more weeks of winter (at least) regardless.

Purrs and kitty kisses to all and stay warm!

  3. Wow, you still have so much white stuff on the ground. Here in CT, we are supposed to get a little tonight/tomorrow, and then some more over the weekend.

LOVE the photo of Smidge enjoying the sun!

    Stay warm! :)

  5. The 6 weeks of winter down our way could be very debatable, although we've had more cold weather this winter than mamabug can remember in the 30 plus years she's lived here. We are different cuz we would love to have about 6 more months of winter.....MOL....it's the heat in the summertime that we grow weary of.
    Stay warm!!!!! xxxxxx

  6. That is one of my all time favorite movies!
Our weather folks say that the south is getting all the storms we're supposed to get. We've just been cold. Very cold...below zero.
I'd rather have snow. Stay warm, all!

  10. Love the pictures of the kittys in the window. :) I was really disillusioned years and years ago (the '60s, the Stone Age lol) when my mom told me there will *always* be six weeks of winter because there's about six weeks from 2/2 to the first day of spring. oh well.

  13. Yup! I remember that movie well. It's kind of a nightmare really -- reliving the same day over and over again.

Smidge is another very pretty white kitty. Lovely pictures of her basking in the sun, there. Soak it up while you can!
