Thankful Thursday - Tree Guys

Mamacita here.  We got woken up early this morning with lots of large trucks and noise.  I wanted to see what was going on but Chica slept thru it all. The white cats are scaredy cats and all huddled together rather than watch the fun.
The tree guys came by this morning to trim all the trees hanging over the wires.   Last winter we got two ice storms and lost power for days. Brrr, that was cold so all summer they have been working on our street (which is a very long 7 mile heavily wooded through the mountains street) putting up better power lines, new poles and trimming the trees so they don't touch the lines.

We are very grateful for all the work they did and are still doing so hopefully we won't lose our power this winter. Yay for the tree guys!

Do come on by for our special National Feral Cat Day post on Saturday October 16. Join in with us to teach folks that feral cats deserve a chance - we are all rescued ferals (except for Chica and Yoko).  We are glad someone gave us a chance.

If you are posting for Thankful Thursday then join in the blog hop! Be sure to visit Teacher's Pets - they are the ones who started this.

  5. Oh my what beautiful trees. That is so lovely. We live in a well established neighborhood with mature trees so we understand what you mean about trees damaging power lines. Our problems occur in the summer months because of all the tropical weather (like TD & hurricanes). Our county still has tree trimmers that come out each spring and trim the trees back. This year the guys trimming were nice enough to come up into our yard and trim the large trees that go along side of our property which hangs over the electrical lines. They didn't have to come up inside our property but were kind enough to do so. It helped a lot.

  6. Those tree workers are doing a great job - especially if it keeps your power on when the weather is bad.

  10. I hope all the work those tree guys did will keep your power on all winter!

But yeah, ugh, I am with your white roomies - I don't like that type of noise either.

  12. That is great that the tree guys were there trimming and that they put in new poles and wires. WE know that the white kitties were scared by the tree guys noise, but we bet this winter when it is a nasty storm but the power stays on because of the trimming they will be glad they were there!

  14. We hope this tree-trimming does the trick; no downed power lines this winter!

Derry and Annie would hide somewhere (not together), scared too!

  15. Three cheers for the tree guys! Mommy is friends with a tree guy back in Illinois. He was amazing to watch climbing trees...to people, that is. Us Cats are FAR better at it!
Mommy sqee-ed HUGE at the Whitey Cats picture...it made her day.

  16. I'm sure that the kitties would be grateful for the tree guys if they knew what they were doing -- and that it would help to keep them warm this winter. So mama has to be thankful on their behalf.

By the way, Chica's on the LOLSpot if you didn't see her yet.
