Garden Thursday

Chica here today for your garden tour.  We planted flower plus  tomatoes and cukes that all have produced yummy veggies.  Mom loves her sunflowers and planted all colors and sizes.  Her black eyed Susans did well too.

Pop is a big organic gardener and planted all kinds of tomatoes - fun exotic ones - orange ones, ones with deep grooves and big reddish brown ones.  The grapes were sour so we left them on the vine and some critters got them all - we have yet to get any grapes before the critters get them!

Pop will be planting our fall crops soon - lettuces, broccoli, spinach and kale.  It was a very hot summer so some things never got going like our pepper plants.  Did you get any produce from your garden?

Please be sure to visit Jonsie and the other garden posts here.  Hope you enjoyed the tour!  Have a super weekend and don't forget Monday is Talk Like a Pirate Day - get your pirate garb on!

  1. Love your tomatoes all in a row! Wow -such variety! Awwwww gorgeous Chica! Thank you for showing me and Charlie round your garden! We love that you have lots of fresh vegetables and fruit growing in your garden - even if the critters get some of them! :-)

At the moment the only plants I did have that were edibl are my pots of strawberries and herbs but my next door neighbour grew a pepper plant in a pot and had such a crop I might try this next year! Yay! Take care

  2. Hi there Chica. Too bad about the grapes but obviously someone enjoyed them. I am so jealous of all your tomatoes. I tried to grow tomatoes in pots and that does NOT work. They were horrible. I just can't dig in this red clay.I did get some really good blueberries and some peaches. Wishing you a great day.

  6. I'm am very pleased with all the bounty from your summer garden. Where we live, no one plants anything in the fall because it wouldn't survive. Of course, our Canadian climate is very different from yours.

Keep you the good work, Dad and Chica!

  8. Mom tried to grow some things this summer, but no real luck, the only thing to keep producing was our green peppers and the parsley.
She wishes she had a green thumb.
