Sweet Yoko last summer. |
Yoko when we first got her. |
She was very ill when we got her - none of her food would stay down - she either vomited or had diarrhea. Mom made up a substitute for her cat mom the vet they went and Mom was right - Yoko had a parasite. Once she was treated she was fine and gained weight.
She became a big girl - bigger than her sis Chica. Yoko was a mellow, sweetie who loved to greet the peeps who came to visit. She would crawl on their lap and just settle in, soaking up the scritches. Yoko loved bags, finding odd places to nap and eating cream cheese.
We know she is happy, healthy and with her sister Chica, Mom's Mom and Pop's Mom celebrating a wonderful Mother's Day at the Bridge. We will always love you Yoko! Happy Mother's Day to all Moms everywhere, human and other!
Yoko loved to lay like this as a youngster |

What a sweet post. Happy Gotcha Day to sweet Angel Yoko. Hugs, purrs and prayers for you!
ReplyDeleteI hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and enjoyed many sweet memories of your beautiful Angel Yoko. I remember when she passed, I sadly lost my Ms. Phoebe about a month after Yoko, so reading your post was bittersweet for me. It is not easy to lose a family member, one who is like a child to you. You were fortunate to have 20 years with Yoko, I consider myself lucky to have had almost eleven years with Phoebe even though that doesn't seem like a lot. Phoebe was diagnosed with a genetic, rare auto immune disorder at age 3 shortly after she adopted me, and I was told it would be a miracle if she made it to age 6 or 7. Well my Queen was a typical tortie: dominant, no nonsense, independent, strong, yet loyal, loving, and gentle: she was in charge and overcame many serious health issues proving everyone wrong by living almost twice as long as expected! I was smitten from day one and she taught me more about life than any human has.
ReplyDeleteI know she is forever healthy and young watching over us along with Yoko and all our other fur kids there. I still miss and long for just as much as I the day I had to make that difficult decision and probably will until the day we meet again.
Happy Mothers Day and Happy Gotcha Day to Angel Yoko!!!

What a nice way to remember Mom's day.
ReplyDeleteAren't they silly when they do that with their legs. I think as they get older, not so much but as kittens and puppies, they do that.
